Membrane Replacement Cycle and Cost Analysis of Membrane Separation Nitrogen Generator


Membrane components are the core functional core of membrane separation nitrogen generators, and their replacement cycle and replacement cost are important indicators for evaluating the long-term operating cost of the equipment. The membrane separation nitrogen generator realizes nitrogen-oxygen separation through the selective permeability of polymer membrane materials. Compressed air flows through the membrane module, oxygen, water vapor, and other impurity gases pass through the membrane rapidly and are discharged, while nitrogen is intercepted and collected to form high-purity nitrogen. The membrane components will be gradually aged, polluted, and worn during long-term operation, resulting in reduced separation efficiency and decreased nitrogen purity, so regular replacement and maintenance are essential.

The conventional replacement cycle of membrane components is determined by operating environment, equipment load, and air pretreatment effect. Under standard clean industrial working conditions with complete air pretreatment system and long-term stable low-load operation, the service life of membrane components is 5 to 8 years, and the replacement cycle is about 6 years on average. In harsh working environments such as high dust, high humidity, and heavy oil pollution, impurities in the air will adhere to the membrane surface, block the membrane pores, and accelerate membrane aging, shortening the replacement cycle to 3 to 4 years. Frequent equipment start-stop and long-term overload operation will also reduce the service life of membrane components and advance the replacement time.

In terms of cost composition, the replacement cost of membrane components includes core membrane material cost, installation and commissioning cost, and after-sales service cost. The price of a single set of membrane components varies according to equipment model and nitrogen output. Small civilian and commercial membrane modules cost low, with a single replacement cost of hundreds to thousands of dollars; medium and large industrial membrane separation nitrogen generators have high-cost integral membrane modules, with a single replacement cost of several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars. Reasonable daily maintenance can effectively extend the replacement cycle and reduce comprehensive costs. Regular replacement of filter elements, cleaning of pipeline oil stains, and maintenance of dryers can avoid membrane pollution and aging, reduce the frequency of membrane replacement, and greatly reduce the long-term operating and maintenance costs of the equipment for enterprises.
