The oil-free air compressor is the core supporting air source equipment of the nitrogen generator, and the operating state of the compressor directly determines the gas quality, operating efficiency and service life of the nitrogen generator. The nitrogen generator relies on compressed air as the raw material gas for nitrogen separation. The oil content, water content and pressure stability of compressed air are the key factors affecting nitrogen purity and equipment operation. Therefore, scientific selection of matched oil-free air compressors is crucial to ensure the long-term stable operation of the nitrogen generator system. The selection needs to comprehensively consider the nitrogen production capacity of the generator, working pressure, purity requirements and application scenarios.
First of all, the selection should match the flow and pressure parameters of the nitrogen generator. The exhaust flow of the oil-free air compressor must be 2-5 times the maximum air consumption of the nitrogen generator, which can avoid the problem of insufficient air supply leading to reduced nitrogen production and decreased purity. The conventional working pressure of the nitrogen generator is 0.7-0.8MPa, so the rated exhaust pressure of the compressor should be controlled between 0.8-0MPa, ensuring sufficient pressure margin for air separation and purification. For high-purity nitrogen generators above 99.99%, pure oil-free compressors must be selected to completely avoid oil pollution, while ordinary industrial nitrogen equipment can choose water-lubricated oil-free compressors with higher cost performance.
Secondly, the selection should be based on the application scenario and working environment. For laboratory, pharmaceutical and food processing scenarios with high environmental cleanliness requirements, silent oil-free scroll air compressors are preferred, which feature low noise, high gas cleanliness and stable operation. For industrial scenarios such as chemical industry and mechanical processing with long-term continuous operation, oil-free piston or screw compressors with strong durability and high load resistance should be selected. In addition, the supporting pretreatment configuration of the compressor cannot be ignored. It is necessary to match freeze dryers, precision filters and air storage tanks to remove water and impurities in compressed air, which can effectively protect the carbon molecular sieve and membrane separation components of the nitrogen generator and extend the service life of the whole system.
