CMS carbon molecular sieve nitrogen generator is the most widely used industrial nitrogen production equipment, which uses carbon molecular sieve as the adsorption medium to realize oxygen-nitrogen separation through pressure swing adsorption technology, featuring low cost and stable performance. However, affected by raw material air quality, operating environment and daily maintenance, the equipment is prone to various faults during long-term operation, among which the common faults include insufficient nitrogen purity, reduced nitrogen production, equipment air leakage and abnormal noise. Timely and accurate fault troubleshooting and maintenance can effectively restore equipment performance and extend the service life of carbon molecular sieve and the whole machine.
Insufficient nitrogen purity is the most common fault of CMS nitrogen generators. The main causes include aging and failure of carbon molecular sieve, excessive oil and water impurities in raw material air, failure of pretreatment filter elements, and unreasonable pressure switching cycle. When the nitrogen purity drops, firstly check the air pretreatment system, replace the saturated filter elements and clean the pipeline oil-water impurities to prevent oil pollution from damaging the molecular sieve. Secondly, calibrate the adsorption pressure and switching time of the equipment. If the purity is still not restored after parameter adjustment, it indicates that the carbon molecular sieve is aged and invalid, and the molecular sieve needs to be replaced in time to ensure oxygen-nitrogen separation efficiency.
Reduced nitrogen production and equipment air leakage are also frequent faults in daily operation. The decrease in nitrogen output is mostly caused by insufficient air supply of the supporting air compressor, blockage of the air inlet pipeline or excessive internal resistance of the equipment. It is necessary to check the operating state of the air compressor, clean the blocked pipeline and adjust the air supply pressure to restore normal nitrogen production capacity. Equipment air leakage mainly occurs in pipeline joints, solenoid valves and adsorption tower sealing parts. It is necessary to carry out comprehensive air tightness detection, replace aging sealing rings and faulty solenoid valves, and re-seal the connecting parts. In addition, abnormal noise and vibration of the equipment are mostly caused by loose fixing parts and unstable pressure difference, which can be solved by fastening parts and adjusting operating pressure parameters. Regular daily maintenance and fault inspection can effectively reduce the failure rate of CMS nitrogen generators and ensure long-term stable and efficient operation of the equipment.
