Nitrogen generators dedicated to NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy laboratories are professional high-stability gas supply equipment developed for the unique operating requirements of NMR instruments. NMR spectrometers are high-precision scientific research instruments relying on strong magnetic field and radio frequency signal detection, and their normal operation has extremely strict requirements on the stability, dryness and purity of nitrogen. Nitrogen is mainly used for NMR instrument superconducting magnet cold head purge, instrument pipeline dry protection, sample atmosphere protection and laboratory inert environment creation. Unstable gas pressure, excessive moisture or trace impurities in nitrogen will cause cold head frosting, pipeline blockage, signal drift and other problems, seriously affecting the resolution and accuracy of NMR spectral detection, and even causing damage to expensive superconducting magnets.
NMR-specific nitrogen generators adopt high-end PSA ultra-purification technology and special drying and stabilization systems to meet the extreme gas source standards of NMR instruments. The equipment can stably output high-purity nitrogen above 99.9995%, with an ultra-low dew point of below -60℃, which can thoroughly remove water vapor in the gas and ensure the dryness of the instrument internal pipeline and cold head system. Trace oxygen and organic impurities in nitrogen are strictly controlled at the ppb level, avoiding magnetic field interference and signal noise caused by gas impurities. Different from ordinary laboratory nitrogen generators, NMR dedicated models are equipped with ultra-high precision pressure stabilization modules, which can control the gas output pressure fluctuation within ±0.005MPa, completely eliminating spectral signal drift caused by gas pressure changes and ensuring the high stability and repeatability of NMR detection data.
The continuous and stable gas supply capability of the equipment is highly matched with the long-term working characteristics of NMR instruments. NMR spectrometers often need to run continuously for several days for sample testing and data collection, and the gas supply must be uninterrupted and stable for a long time. Traditional liquid nitrogen and high-pressure nitrogen cylinders have hidden dangers such as liquid nitrogen volatilization loss and cylinder pressure attenuation, which cannot guarantee long-term stable gas supply. NMR dedicated nitrogen generators realize 24-hour on-site continuous gas production, with automatic load adjustment function, which can intelligently adjust gas production flow according to the instrument's real-time gas consumption, ensuring stable gas supply during long-term instrument operation and standby state, and effectively avoiding experimental interruption and instrument failure caused by gas source problems.
In terms of safety and instrument protection, NMR nitrogen generators have professional customized design. The whole machine adopts vibration-damping and silent design, with almost no mechanical vibration during operation, avoiding vibration interference to the high-precision magnetic field system of NMR instruments. The built-in multi-level safety protection system can monitor gas purity, pressure, dew point and equipment operation status in real time, and automatically alarm and cut off abnormal gas supply when parameters deviate from the standard, protecting the expensive superconducting magnet and detection system from damage. In addition, the equipment has low energy consumption and long service life, and the fully automatic unattended operation mode reduces manual intervention. It not only ensures the long-term stable operation of NMR instruments but also greatly reduces the daily operation and maintenance cost of NMR laboratories, which is an indispensable supporting equipment for modern NMR spectral analysis laboratories.
