The all-in-one nitrogen generator integrated with a supporting air compressor is a compact plug-and-play gas supply unit that integrates a rotary screw/piston air compressor, air storage tank, refrigerated air dryer, multi-stage precision filtration system, PSA nitrogen main unit, nitrogen buffer tank and PLC intelligent control cabinet inside a single frame or cabinet body. Breaking the traditional separated layout mode where users need to purchase air compression equipment, air drying devices and nitrogen generators separately and conduct on-site pipeline assembly, this integrated system completes all procedures from raw air intake, air compression, air purification drying to nitrogen separation and constant-pressure output inside one whole machine. Users only need to connect the equipment to a 220V/380V power supply and connect the nitrogen outlet pipeline to packaging, welding or testing terminal equipment to immediately obtain stable high-purity nitrogen gas, completely eliminating complicated civil construction, pipeline design, equipment matching debugging and space planning work in the early stage. This all-in-one design is especially suitable for small food workshops, laser processing studios, laboratory rooms, electronic maintenance workshops and mobile production sites with limited area, no professional gas equipment debugging personnel and low nitrogen consumption demand, becoming the mainstream preferred nitrogen supply scheme for small and medium-sized users in recent years.
The internal structural layout and working logic of the integrated nitrogen compressor unit are scientifically optimized to ensure efficient cooperative operation of all modules. The bottom of the whole machine is usually equipped with a horizontal air storage tank, which undertakes the dual functions of storing compressed air and balancing system pressure fluctuation, avoiding frequent startup and shutdown of the air compressor caused by unstable gas consumption. The air compressor mostly adopts silent permanent magnet variable-frequency screw type for medium and large models, while small mini units use oil-free piston compressors to meet food and laboratory oil-free air requirements; compressed air discharged from the compressor firstly enters the refrigerated dryer to remove condensed water, then passes through three-stage precision filters including primary dust removal, secondary oil removal and activated carbon deodorization to eliminate moisture, oil mist and solid particles in compressed air, and the purified dry clean air is delivered to the PSA nitrogen generator host. Inside the nitrogen host, carbon molecular sieves selectively adsorb oxygen components in the air under pressure to separate high-purity nitrogen, which is stored in the nitrogen buffer tank after pressure stabilization and finally exported to terminal equipment at constant pressure under PLC control. All modules are connected by pre-installed stainless steel pipelines inside the cabinet, with shock absorption pads installed at the joints to reduce overall operation noise; the cabinet shell is equipped with heat dissipation fans and noise reduction cotton, making the running noise controlled below 65 decibels, suitable for indoor quiet working environments.
The prominent advantages of the air compressor integrated nitrogen generator are reflected in installation convenience, space saving, stable system coordination and reduced comprehensive procurement costs. Firstly, the plug-and-play feature greatly shortens the deployment cycle: separated equipment usually requires 3–7 days for pipeline laying, connection and system debugging, while the all-in-one unit can be put into formal use within 1 hour after power connection, ideal for temporary production and rapidly expanding workshops. Secondly, the integrated cabinet occupies only 40%–60% of the total space required by separately placed equipment, effectively solving the problem of insufficient indoor space for small workshops. Thirdly, all components are pre-matched, tested and calibrated by the manufacturer before delivery, the PLC system uniformly controls the startup sequence, pressure linkage and fault protection of the compressor and nitrogen host, avoiding common problems such as mismatched air supply volume, excessive pressure fluctuation and short service life of molecular sieves caused by improper manual matching of separated equipment. In terms of cost, the overall procurement price of the integrated unit is 10%–18% lower than the total price of purchasing each module separately, and the manufacturer provides unified after-sales maintenance services for the whole machine, eliminating the trouble of coordinating multiple suppliers for fault handling when different components break down.
Different specifications of integrated nitrogen units are divided according to nitrogen flow, purity and compressor type, adapting to diversified application demands, and users need to select models based on actual usage scenarios. Small oil-free piston integrated units with nitrogen production below 1 Nm³/h and purity of 99%–99.9% are priced at USD 1,200–4,500, mainly used for small food packaging, jewelry welding and laboratory small instrument gas supply; medium permanent magnet screw integrated units with flow 1–5 Nm³/h and adjustable purity up to 99.99% cost USD 4,800–11,500, widely applied in automatic food packaging lines, small laser cutting and electronic component welding production. High-end variable-frequency energy-saving integrated models launched by international brands such as Atlas Copco adopt linkage energy-saving control technology, automatically reducing compressor power when nitrogen demand decreases, cutting annual electricity expenses by over 25%, suitable for enterprises with long-term continuous production needs. The only minor limitation of the all-in-one unit is the relatively inconvenient disassembly and maintenance of internal components compared with split equipment; however, regular annual maintenance and standardized operation can guarantee stable operation for more than 8 years. For most small and medium-sized users without professional gas management teams, the air compressor integrated nitrogen generator is the most economical, convenient and reliable on-site nitrogen production solution.
