Sanitary Grade Material Requirements for Food-Grade Nitrogen Generators


Food-grade nitrogen generators are special gas production equipment for food processing, packaging, fresh-keeping and preservation, and their material selection must strictly comply with food safety production standards to ensure that the output nitrogen is pollution-free, non-toxic and harmless, and does not cause secondary pollution to food. Sanitary grade material requirements run through the whole machine of the equipment, including shell, gas pipeline, filter element, separation module, gas storage tank and all parts in contact with gas. All materials must have food-grade safety certification, with corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, no precipitation and no oxidation characteristics, meeting the hygienic and clean production requirements of the food industry.

First, the material requirements of gas contact parts are the core standard. All pipelines, valves, gas storage tanks and inner cavity components in contact with nitrogen and air must adopt 304 or 316L food-grade stainless steel materials. Among them, 316L stainless steel is suitable for high-standard food processing scenarios such as dairy products, beverages and baked food, with better corrosion resistance and anti-oxidation performance, resisting the erosion of food volatile substances and humid environment, and no metal ions and harmful substances precipitation. The inner wall of the pipeline is polished smoothly to avoid dust, impurities and bacterial residue, which is convenient for daily cleaning and disinfection, and meets the food hygienic cleaning standards.

Second, the sanitary requirements of filter and purification consumables. The filter element, activated carbon, molecular sieve and other purification consumables of food-grade nitrogen generators must adopt food-grade harmless materials, without chemical residue and odor. The precision filter element is made of food-grade polypropylene material, which can effectively filter dust, moisture and impurities in the air, and does not release harmful substances during use. The sealing rings, gaskets and other rubber accessories in the equipment must adopt food-grade silica gel materials, which are high temperature resistant, aging resistant and non-toxic, avoiding rubber odor and harmful precipitation polluting nitrogen gas, ensuring the purity and safety of food-level gas source.

Third, the shell and external auxiliary material requirements. The equipment shell is made of high-quality cold-rolled steel plate with food-grade anti-rust and antibacterial coating on the surface, which is smooth, easy to clean, not easy to breed bacteria, and adapts to the high-cleanliness production environment of food workshops. The equipment base and fixed accessories are made of anti-corrosion and waterproof materials, which can resist the cleaning water and disinfectant erosion of food workshops. In addition, all adhesive and connecting auxiliary materials used for equipment assembly must meet food-grade safety standards, and non-toxic and harmless food-grade special adhesives are used to avoid volatile harmful gases.

Finally, the material inspection and certification requirements. All sanitary grade materials of food-grade nitrogen generators must provide official food safety certification reports, and the equipment must pass food-grade gas safety detection before leaving the factory. The materials should have stable chemical properties, no chemical reaction with air and nitrogen, no mildew and no corrosion in long-term use, fully meet the hygienic safety standards of food production, and ensure that the nitrogen used for food fresh-keeping, packaging and processing is safe and qualified.
