The screw air compressor is the core air source supporting equipment of the nitrogen generator, and its model selection accuracy directly determines the operating efficiency, stability and energy consumption of the entire nitrogen supply system. The compressed air provided by the air compressor is the raw material for oxygen-nitrogen separation. Unreasonable selection will lead to insufficient air source, unstable pressure, excessive oil and water content, which will affect the nitrogen production purity and equipment service life. The selection needs to comprehensively consider the nitrogen generator gas production, working pressure, air consumption ratio and operating environment.
First, confirm the matching air volume ratio. The air consumption ratio of PSA nitrogen generators is generally 3:1 to 4:1, that is, producing 1 cubic meter of nitrogen requires 3-4 cubic meters of compressed air. When selecting the air compressor, it is necessary to reserve 10%-20% of the air volume margin on the basis of the theoretical air consumption to cope with the gas consumption fluctuation in peak production periods. For example, a 50 cubic meter nitrogen generator needs to be equipped with a screw air compressor with a displacement of not less than 180 cubic meters per hour to ensure sufficient and stable air source supply.
Second, match the working pressure and equipment type. The rated working pressure of the screw air compressor should be 0.1-0.2MPa higher than the inlet pressure required by the nitrogen generator, to make up for the pressure loss of the pipeline and purification equipment. For indoor fixed nitrogen generators, ordinary oil-injected screw air compressors can be selected; for high-purity nitrogen scenarios such as electronics and laboratory, oil-free screw air compressors must be matched to avoid oil pollution affecting nitrogen purity. In addition, frequency conversion screw air compressors are preferred for long-term continuous operation, which can automatically adjust the power according to gas consumption, effectively reducing idle power consumption and saving operating costs.
