Accurate calculation of annual power consumption cost is the core basis for industrial enterprises to evaluate the operating economy of nitrogen generators, optimize equipment operation strategies and control production costs. The power consumption of industrial nitrogen generators mainly comes from the main engine of the nitrogen generator, supporting air compressor, dryer, filter and other auxiliary equipment, and the calculation needs to cover all power-consuming units to avoid missing data leading to inaccurate results. Different types of nitrogen generators (PSA carbon molecular sieve type, membrane separation type) have different power consumption characteristics, so targeted calculation methods need to be adopted according to equipment types and operating conditions.
The basic calculation formula of annual power consumption is clear and standardized. First, calculate the total installed power of the equipment system, that is, the sum of the rated power of the nitrogen generator main engine, supporting air compressor, refrigerated dryer and precision filter. Then confirm the actual operating power coefficient. Industrial nitrogen generators rarely run at full load for a long time, and the actual operating power is generally 0.7-0.9 times of the rated power, which needs to be determined according to the on-site gas consumption fluctuation. Next, confirm the annual operating hours: most industrial production lines work 300 days a year, 24 hours a day, with a total of 7200 operating hours, and enterprises with intermittent production can calculate according to actual working hours.
The final annual electricity cost = total actual operating power (kW) × annual operating hours (h) × industrial electricity unit price (yuan/kWh). In addition to basic power consumption, auxiliary power consumption factors need to be supplemented, including the power consumption of the equipment control cabinet, cooling fan and regular startup and standby loss. For large-flow industrial nitrogen generators, it is necessary to deduct the power consumption reduction brought by energy-saving modes and frequency conversion adjustment. After calculating the total annual power consumption cost, enterprises can compare it with the cost of purchasing bottled nitrogen and liquid nitrogen, so as to judge the economic advantages of self-generating nitrogen equipment and provide data support for equipment maintenance and renewal.
